Visiting Bemidji?

In no time we'll be watching the lake ice go out here in Bemidji and the lush green of summer will begin to appear. The home of Paul Bunyan has been a favorite summer vacation spot for years and 2009 will be no different. In fact, with today's world there are few places better or more economical than spending a vacation on Lake Bemidji. If you're thinking of visiting, here are a few places worth checking out.

Ruttger's Birchmont Lodge has been in business for over 100 years on the north end of the lake. Check out their website and think about staying at this historic spot, and don't forget to swing by Patterson's for the latest in swimwear and summer fashions!

Bemidji's Chamber of Commerce. This is where to get information on fun upcoming events in the Bemidji area. Check out their calender of events, two webcams, or their attractions guide!

Hard to spend much time on a great lake without thinking about fishing, and Bemidji has some awesome angling. Check out Visit Bemidji's fishing guide, and don't forget to check the conditions via local master Paul Nelson's excellent lake report at Tabor's Bait! If you're really lucky you can hire Mr. Nelson to show you the best spots!

There aren't many places better to check out the lakefront than from beautiful Bemidji State's campus, especially from the recently redone Diamond Point Park.
